The event places the focus on the sustainable development of equestrian sport in China and represents a great opportunity for China and the international equestrian sport.

Competing against ten international and 21 Chinese riders, French rider, Kevin Staut won the Longines Masters Grand Prix. Ludger Beerbaum from Germany came second, Jane Richard Philips from Switzerland ranked third. The best Chinese competitor was Meimei Zhu who secured fourth place.

Chinese State TV channel, CCTV 5, broadcast the competition live and achieved one of the highest TV viewing figures in the history of the equestrian sport proving the growing popularity of the sport in China. Eurosport also broadcasted the competition live.
